An Introduction...
Welcome to the Thanet Big Sing Community Choir. We’re a vibrant and friendly community choir, united by our shared love of singing. Our motto is WE LOVE TO SING.
Under the expert guidance of our Music Director, Tony Castro, we rehearse every Tuesday evening during school term time in Westgate-on-Sea.
No audition is necessary, and choir members do not need to read music or have any choral or musical experience. We sing a wide variety of music from popular to light classical and music from the Shows, and we also commission new works for special events.
Throughout the year we sing at our own bespoke concerts and make appearances at other local public events. Friendships and social activities are very much at the core of what we do, and we believe that singing together enriches lives and strengthens our community.
The Thanet Big Sing Community Choir is a registered Community Interest Company committed to providing a thoroughly enjoyable local amenity that benefits people of all singing abilities, which fosters a strong sense of fun and belonging, making a significantly positive difference.

Wanted: Basses, Tenors and Tenor Contraltos
The Thanet Big Sing Community Choir generally welcomes all new members aged 18 years or over.
However, due to our popularity, we have grown significantly in the last few years, and as we are limited in size by our rehearsal and performance spaces, plus the need to maintain a well-balanced sound between voices, we are now having to temporarily create a waiting list for our soprano and alto higher voices, until spaces in these voice sections become available.
We most definitely welcome new people with lower voices (Basses and Tenor Contraltos and Tenors)
